I highly recommend McMahon Plumbing & Heating, who provided a great customer experience from the beginning to the end. They installed heat pumps in our house, which included 2 outdoor condensers and 6 head units inside, as well as replaced our water heater with a new hybrid heat pump electric tank, and installed 2 electric base boards. The quality of the equipment and parts used, as well as the craftsmanship of their technicians and electricians was superb. Everything is amazing and of top quality, from the actual condensers and head units, to the pipes, wires, thermostats, etc etc. It's all of great quality!! We weren't sure how it would end up looking with all these pipes running along the outside walls of our house. But they did such a great job of blending and hiding everything to fit in and match the design of our house. I think our house looks even better since it is now updated with all this great technology and top quality equipment. And like I said, it was their top priority to make everything blend in and match the design of our house. Even before they began, they were very thorough when drawing up the diagram of our house and the work to be done, which included 30+ pages of a proposal, which included pictures and floor plans, and was very easy to follow, and they explained everything step by step. And when they first arrived, John, who was our head technician, walked through and explained the location of everything that was going to be installed both inside and outside. The head electrician, Eric, also did the same with all the electric work he was going to do. And they wanted to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. And they answered all my questions, throughout the whole install, and addressed all my concerns, and made all the custom modifications that I requested. I could honestly write so many more good things about the entire experience, even with how friendly they were with any questions I had after the work was done. I hope if you are considering any plumbing or heating work to be done at your house, to trust me when I say, this company is definitely worth your consideration. You will be very happy with your choice.

After getting a Mass Save energy assessment. This was the company that was contracted to replace my heating system. I have had issues since they installed it. They came out multiple times to "fix" an issue. One guy had to call technical support because he didn't know what he was doing. The latest call the secretary called at 10:08 today (8/15) and said they will be there within an hour. They showed up 2 1/2 hours later. They claim the city over pressurized the system to 130 psi. They went out get a part they needed. When they came back they said part was fine. I don't know if they actually changed it. Then they left and a couple of hours later they came with an expansion tank (even though I already have one). They said state approved the second expansion tank. One of the technician named Rob was swearing about how the pipes aren't straight and how he couldn't figure out how to put the install second expansion tank. They said it's no longer leaking when they left. I went to do a load of laundry and there was an error code for an issue with water pressure. I looked up and noticed they disconnected the water hoses for the washer without telling me they disconnected them. As I was doing laundry I noticed it was still leaking.

Ledi was very efficient and worked so quickly. Him and his team so professional. They completed the job in my home in less than 3 days. They stayed past their working hours to make sure I had my heat running in my home. 10/10 definitely recommend

Ledi and partner did a thorough job on our furnace today. Very pleased with how they communicated with us and were respectful of our home by covering their shoes. Very knowledgeable of their profession and both were kind and respectful. Thank you for sending us your finest employees. Carol and Al Delehanty

We tried out McMahon based on all the positive reviews, but we did not have a good experience. They charged us a lot of money while failing to fix the problem. The first bad sign was when I asked over the phone what the diagnostic fee would be and whether that fee would get rolled into the cost of the repair - a fairly standard practice. Their response was "the technician will explain that to you when they get there". I don't mind paying a diagnostic fee, but this is shady from the start. Why not just tell me what the fee is? I should have trusted my gut and turned back then, but we needed our hot water fixed, so I pressed on. They didn't accurately diagnose the problem, charged us $1500 to do unnecessary work that has caused other plumbing issues, and the problem returned. When we called back to see if they would come fix it, they said "sorry, it's outside the 30-day window, so we'll have to charge you all over again". We are a working family with young children. 30 days goes by incredibly fast. And $1500 is a lot of money to flush down the drain. It's disappointing that they don't stand by their work. (Though frankly, I wouldn't either, if my work were so poor to begin with). I don't intend any of this to be unkind, but I want to communicate with others (and the company) that we had a bad and costly experience with McMahon.

In October of 2024, McMahon Plumbing & Heating installed my ducted air source heat pump. I live on the first floor of an 100 year old house that has been converted to a condominium. There was no HVAC system. Adam worked very hard for several days in my basement, putting up a web of ductwork and connecting it to vents that he cut into the floor of each room of my condo. Adam is highly skilled and addressed all of my concerns. He is very pleasant to work with and very responsive. It is now March, 2025. The air source heat pump efficiently and effectively heated my seven room condo throughout the winter. This was a very COLD winter and the heat pump system kept the temperature in my condo comfortable. The system is SO much better than my previous system of oil furnace and steam radiators. I look forward to using this new system to keep my home cool this summer. Plumbing & Heating updated my electric panel from 60 AMPS to 200 AMPS. It was an extensive job and Eric and Sam did a very detailed and thorough job. They were friendly, yet professional and kindly answered my many questions. I highly recommend them.

I just used them to repair an HVAC that had no heat. They were busy and took a few days but they repaired it! Most companies will try to make you replace it but they were honest. It was a small inexpensive part and boom! Heat is back on. Highly recommended.
